Motorcyclist, 64, Killed, Passenger Seriously Injured In Salem County Crash

A 64-year-old motorcyclist was killed and his passenger was seriously injured in a crash in Salem County, authorities said.

Troopers responded to a crash on Sunday, June 16 at 12:10 p.m. on Route 49 in Quinton Township, New Jersey State Police said.

Based on a preliminary investigation, a Honda SUV was traveling westbound on Route 49. A Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Route 49. 

In the area of milepost 11.1, the Honda turned left, and the Harley-Davidson impacted the Honda, State Police said.

As a result of the crash, the driver of the Harley-Davidson, Wilbert Thomas, of Woolwich, sustained fatal injuries, State Police said.

The passenger of the Harley-Davidson, Michelle McComb, a 57-year-old female from Carneys Point, sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital, State Police said.

There were no other injuries reported. 

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information is available at this time.
